Everyone and their mother was talking about this recent gain in talent for the Lakers today:
The Lakers have acquired forward-center Pau Gasol from the Memphis Grizzlies for center Kwame Brown and guard Javaris Crittenton
Gasol, 27, is averaging 18.9 points and 8.8 rebounds this season for the Grizzlies. He has expressed discontent in the past year with the Grizzlies (13-33) who have not been in playoffs since 2006 and have never won a playoff game since he was drafted in 2001.
He was the NBA's rookie of the year in 2001-02 and made the All-Star team in 2006.
Gasol has three more years and an estimated $49 million on his contract. Brown's $9.1-million contract expires after this season and Crittenton is a rookie.
Gasol would fill in at center until Andrew Bynum returns from a knee injury sometime in March. Gasol could then slide over to power forward when Bynum returns..
This means:
OUT:
IN:
I'm no die-hard Laker freaker, but I got love for LA. Go Pau go.

COLETTE: AMOUR DE MA VIE.
Everyone's been talking about how great French store Colette is, and their new re-made website, and so I decided to check out what the fuss was all about.
Once I entered the site, it was love at first site (sight...get it?)
The newly KRINKed out site is so playful - it made me wanna jump and jam to the awesome selection of music they've got spinning.
They've got lots to offer on their e-shop, like this Be@rBrick with a heart of love for your stylish valentine (yes, I know Valentine's Day is the worst day of the year for some of us, reiterating the fact that we are indeed lonely, but I've got a positive outlook for all of you eager beavers for that special day so here are some pretty dope gift ideas):
Or maybe a Nuit Blanche x Keith Haring Chocolate Box filled with personalized chocolates for that sweet artlover:
And moving on to summer sneak peeks with the neon trend this year, a selection of Alife sneakers and Repetto flats:
And continuing with the neon trend, a preview of Marc Jacobs' line of totally neon Stam bags, with more neon small leather goods on the way for the summer:
Or that new Chloe perfume that's bottled up ever so intricately:
I'm in love with this new collaboration between Jean Pigozzi's 6-month-old brand, Limoland and Yoshida (parent company of our favorite Porter line):
Support the masterminds behind the Colette website by purchasing some Krink Color Squeeze Markers:
And finally, dress yourself up in this SWEET little necklace by Tatty Devine:
I must say, I am obsessed with the products, design, and outlook of this store.
Go have some fun at their website and soak up the French love...

We're All Just A Bunch of Beautiful Losers
Aaron Rose began curating the Beautiful Losers exhibit ten years ago, stemming from the subcultures of skateboarding, punk, surfing, hip hop, and graffiti.
Now he's made a movie depicting the cultural movement of our generation, through all the elements, artists, and people behind the Beautiful Losers campaign.
Here is just a sneak peek behind the movie that is set to be released in Spring this year. Ya dig???

I SCREAM FOR SOME CREAM.
Cutest new line in the market? Freshest smelling, that's for sure!
Cream is a women's line catering to "girls who love to dream about their future and freely express their own styles".
Three Japanese models-turned-designers from NYC launched this line last year, and what's most unique about their feminine tees is that they are scratch n' sniffable!
Memories are the essence for their brand, and their scented tees allow us to recollect our fondest moments of the past.
So far, their line consists of 3 batches of tees they have launched with scents of Gardenia, Fresh Air, Vanilla, Sunflower, and Bubble Gum:

They've also recently just launched a Valentine's Day line featuring smells of Raspberry, now sold at Karmaloop:
Peep the ladies at Cream. And get ready to taste the sweet stuff.

Now, you can learn and jam and look at mammals all at the same time! What's that, you ask?
The Natural History Museum is featuring Kid Sister and DJ A-Trak this week for their First Fridays series!!!
They'll be heatin' it up at the North American Mammal Hall (Haha!) starting at 7 pm, and if you go earlier, you can partake in a tour in the Discovery Center and engage in a discussion on "The Elephant's Secret Sense".
SOUNDS LIKE A PARTY, RIGHT?
Tickets are only $9 for adults and $6.50 for students with ID.
Get there early, it's in downtown LA AND it's a Friday.
LIPPEDJEANIUS WILL SEE YOU THERE!!!
P.S. Not to mention, the last time DJ A-Trak and Kid Sister performed together in NYC, Kanye West made a surprise appearance. Not saying anything like that would happen this time around, but sure would be SWEET!

ANTHROPOLOGIE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT BLACK PEOPLE
Everyone knows working retail sucks (besides the discount that allows us to waste our paychecks on the company, kind of a recycling scheme).
There is an interesting article I came across on Jezebel, about whimsical retail chain for the ladies, Anthropologie.
Behind their beautifully overpriced dresses, baubles, and adorable home decor, there's an apparent anti-minority perspective that's similar to sister company Urban Outfitters and mega-macho-hunk-loving Abercrombie & Fitch.
This article reveals a former employee's experience with the company, and what the company defines as really shady people.
Check out an excerpt from the article, or click the link above to get the full effect.
But really, for anyone who's glanced at a few of Anthropologie's catalogs it is obvious what the company is trying to shoot for: almost-middle-aged white women whose escapist fantasizing might be interrupted by the sight of a token Asian or black model gracing the pages, but never converted to full-fledged liberal guilt over the idiocy of it all. When I was there, anyone of color who shopped at Anthro was seen as a suspected shoplifter and "shadowed" by a tiny blonde associate who would take everything they picked up to "hold behind the register" (which as any good retail slave knows, is code for "I think you are a shoplifter"). [This happened to me! At the Rockefeller Center store! Ugh. -Ed.] Anyway, the big lesson is that corporations like Anthropologie don't want to trust minorities who shop from them or work for them, or really, anyone who steps out of the lifestyle mold that they have fabricated.
Some of us can indeed refute the fact that there is an anti-minority problem with the company, but some things just are apparent, and even when we know that they don't fully accept non-white people, we still go there to shop anyway.
So what can we do? To shop or not shop, that is the question.

ADAM TENSTA: FROM SWEDEN TO THE USA?
The Lipped Jeanius always welcomes feedback and suggestions, and today, coming from one of my loyal readers, is a spotlight for a new name in the hip hop game.
Adam Tensta is an MC hailing from Tensta in Stockholm, Sweden.
He dropped his album, It's A Tensta Thing in 2007, and his video for "My Cool" (below) was nominated at the Swedish Grammy Awards.
He's earning credibility for rapping about things other than 'hos and cash', and his electro-pop-hip-hop sounds are quickly catching on to hip hop fans in the US.
The next best thing from Sweden besides Ikea? You decide.
Debut track "They Wanna Know":
And the Grammy nominated "My Cool":
I personally enjoyed this video, although I believe the word, "cool" is getting a little played out.
Adam Tensta is already being compared to Kanye, but...I don't know about that one.
On a side note, please read this article on Adam Tensta atPerezHilton.com, where his readers question his knowledge as a wannabe-white-fat-fag-sellout when he writes in support of Tensta: he is one of the freshest and illest rappers on the planet.
I don't know what you'll enjoy the most: the hilarious comments or Perez Hilton using the word, 'illest'.
Stay tuned for more on Adam Tensta - will he indeed become a respected MC??
