SIRAH ONE AIN'T NO SUCKA MC.

Watch out, world. Sirah One's comin' at ya. Hard.
Last night, I had the opportunity to hear and meet one of the newest female emcees in the game, Sirah One.Donned in a hoodie, keyboard tee, jeans, and brightly colored Dunk Hi's, she spit hard on the mic with every beat the DJ spun.
She has an infectiously cute persona, she's funny, quirky, boyish but feminine.
Her flows are quick and sharp, her spoken word is inspiring, and she deserves mad respect for getting to where she's at.
But believe me, she's not stopping any time soon. She's released her first album, "Sirah One & DJ Hoppa Present: Clean Windows Dirty Floors", which is backed by her label, Broken Complex Records.Check out more of Sirah One's dope rhymes and bio at her MySpace.

So what's with the "LippedJeans" title? It's an effort to bring not only these two above lifestyles together, but also to harmonize the cultures of the East and the West.
Lost In Translation is an awesome movie that examines the clash between two cultures, through the lives of Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson and their interaction with the Japanese community in one of the busiest and advanced cities in the world.

The "lipped" comes from the scene shown in the video below, (possibly one of the funniest scenes in the movie perhaps due to Coppola's overall somber directing style) when the female 'entertainer' cannot correctly pronounce 'rip' in order to seduce Murray.

Consequently, "lipped" combines the clash of the American and Japanese cultures, and emphasizes that everyone attempts to adapt to a particular lifestyle, culture, or social phenomenon to correctly "define" themselves, like the woman in the scene.

We are always getting the best of two (or more) worlds, we can never define ourselves to one particular side: it's all about blurring the dividing line and bringing every aspect together - in harmony.

Wrapping it up, LippedJeans: Lipped as in loved, Lipped as in torn, however you interpret it, love the jeans (skin) you're in, and if they're too RIPPED, then, hey, ya gotta do somethin about it.

As women, it is possibly the most difficult thing in the world to find the perfect pair of jeans. So, for the most of us, love the jeans that you absolutely feel sexy and comfortable in (LIP LOCK EM) and wear em everyday if you want to (we won't tell) and rip those jeans up that signify the past, and find some new ones that you CAN lip lock and love. You deserve it, girl.
