WHAT'S SO COOL , THE COOL KIDS?

I wanna be cool!Chi Town's coolest kids are on the run.
The Cool Kids met each other on MySpace and have been Cool ever since: 19 year old Mikey Rocks and 23 year old Chuck Inglish are so Cool with their vivid vinyl jackets, shell toes, and thick gold chains.
Their first track, Black Mags, a BMX-rider's anthem, was supposed to do what Lupe's "Kick, Push" did for skateboarding in Chicago when it first debuted.
There's been a whole lotta COOL coming from Chicago...but The Cool Kids are reviving the 80's hip-hop scene with their big beats and simple rhymes.
They have indeed got a crowd of support (and wannabes) with kids trying to look just like them, with fresh fades and their multi-color technicoats...gotta give 'em props for that. The Black Mags video WILL make you feel 'hood:

The Cool Kids rocked the house yesterday at NY's American Museum of Natural History, along with fellow Chicagoans Kid Sister and DJ A-Track dropping beats, with a surprise appearance by Kanye! Stay tuned for more of...COOL.

..Magic Trade Show starts on the day of you have 3 midterms (back-to-back) of 6th week?

wow.

EYESHADOW FOR DUMMIES: FORREAL!????

I was reading up the blog (my daily routine) at Around The Way Girls and found the solution for those of you who really just suck at applying eyeshadow.
ColorOn Professional created the Eye Shadow Applicators, which are basically instant, stick-on eyeshadow, to make your eyes seductive and ready for another drunken night in just 2 minutes.
All you do is simple: peel and stick!
Here are the details from ColorOn:
These are single-use, hygienic, hypoallergenic applicators that require no makeup skills, no brushes or secondary applicators. Imagine an eye shadow that is waterproof, crease-proof, and long-wearing that transfers to the eyelid with just a touch. The result is nothing short of amazing: A professional, flawless look every time.
Anyway, here are some of the sample shades you can 'customize' to fit your needs.
They come in 5 or 10 packs ranging from $18 to $30 per pack.
From basic:To nighttime seductive smoky: (this girl is enjoying it a little too much)To (rawr) leopard:To zebra:To camo:And finally the tri-colored gradient:I'm only really feelin' this last one, but I'm not too sure about the animal prints and camo.
It seems a little too - themed and Halloween-y.
Seems like a pretty cool invention, for makeup on the go, or just for every-day effortless application.
Anyone who has tried these things, drop me a line via email!
This a make-up revolution in the making ya'll!

X-LARGE X-LARGE X-LARGE

Walking to class as usual yesterday, I caught sight of a fairly cute Japanese girl carrying an interesting bag.
It's hard not to look at other people and their accessories/clothing while walking to class, you know.
Upon a quick glimpse at the bag, I saw that it was from X-Large, and I thought, that's pretty ill.
So, I decided to see if I could find that darn bag, while also reading up some more on the Japanese brand, which is highly respected in the US as well.
X-Large is a part of B's International, which includes a multitude of Japanese brands, including Sarcastic Clothing, Stitch, Styles, and some women's lines.
X-Large is dropping a G-Shock watch in collaboration with The Hundreds on February 9th in Japan:X-Large does have a couple girl's lines, including x-girl, xg, BOXFRESH (yea the line that was sold @ Barracuda), MILKFED,
I did see some girl's items I think are hot:
No luck finding the man-bag, but the search will definitely continue. Check out X-Large's website, it's pretty tight, lovin' the Flash and the artwork. I'm diggin the COORDINATE section as well - a pretty tight lookbook. Think X-Large!

DAVID BECKHAM WANTS YOU, YES YOU

A while back, I did a post on Victoria Beckham and her ad campaign with Marc Jacobs.
Well now it's her hubby's turn that deserves a post.
I really didn't want to show such a frontal picture, but he's all over my Gmail account and I can't help sharing his hotness with the world.
New York Magazine's newsletter ALWAYS attaches this photo/ad to promote the underwear line for Emporio Armani:YEAH, it surprises me everyday, even though I know it's going to be there.
It's one of those things you know you shouldn't look at, but there's this part of you that wants to stare at it in all it's glory.
Well here you go, ladies...(and some men?).
You can oogle over some more pictures...and pictures of other men naked in underwear (?) at Emporio Armani.
Don't say I didn't warn you.

TRILLA MAN: RICK ROSS

Rick Ross is on the collaboration express with various stars featured on many of his tracks on his sophomore album, Trilla.
Although the album was supposed to be released at the end of 2007, it's getting pushed back even further to March 11 to drop in stores.
Expect the Florida connection on this album with guests including T-Pain, R-Kelly, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Trick Daddy, Young Jeezy, and a production by Mannie Fresh.
Trilla is the new thrilla! We'll see in March how Trilling it is.

SWEETS FOR THE SWEET TOOTH

I have strange cravings, but most of the time, I'm craving something sweet.
I know this is so against my 'eat healthy' regime that's always on my mind, but sometimes I feel like I deserve some sweet lovin' after a hard week.
I decided to research some of the LA hotspots (with the help of Paper Mag) where the 'locals' go to satisfy their sweet tooth:
First up is SusieCakes. Located in Brentwood, founder Susan Sarich bakes them cakes as fast as she can. That is, cakes, puddings, cheescakes, pies, and cookies too.
Forget the over-hyped Sprinkles, this is the ultimate American, 50's inspired bakery, claiming her customers to range from Bob Dylan to hottie David's son, Romeo Beckham!
Show some love for SusieCakes! Then, there's the Yummy Cupcakes joint in both Santa Monica and Burbank. A family owned company, in addition to a variety of cupcakes, Yummy Cupcakes slow-bakes their regular cupcakes to make their 'Cupcake Biscotti' - dipped in dark, milk, or white chocolate and rolled in a variety of toppings. YUM.
Check Yummy Cupcakes out online! But if cupcakes aren't your thang and you want something to (the) cool you down, then you might want to trek over to Silver Lake for some Scoops ice cream.
This place is insane: they actually listen to customers' suggestions and they create some of the most wackiest, illest flavors around!
Check this: Owner Mr. Kim creates gelato, vegan ice cream, and sorbet with flavors entitled: Mint Nicotine, Foie Gras with French Onion, Pear and Ginger sorbet, and the 'vanilla' of their parlor, Brown Bread.
I know, you're thinking, whaaat???, but customers swear by most of these flavors as 'ingenious'.
As an added bonus, Mr. Kim and his crew offers the friendliest service, and they'll let you try samples of every flavor before you decide on a couple.
After all, 3 scoops go for $3. Can you say, STEAL!?
Hit up Scoops the next time you're craving for some wacky-flavor-explosion in your mouuuth.
712 N Heliotrope Dr.//Los Angeles, CA 90029//(323) 906-2649//Mon-Sat 12pm-10pm

I'm ready for some cupcakes and ice cream. Are you?

BE KIND REWIND HOMIES

Can't wait to see it! February 22, 2008.
It's also premiering at Sundance Film Festival right this minute.
Here's the synopsis:
Jerry (Jack Black) is a junkyard worker who attempts to sabotage a power plant he suspects of causing his headaches. But he inadvertently causes his brain to become magnetized, leading to the unintentional destruction of the movies in his friend's (Danny Glover) store. In order to keep the store's one loyal customer, an elderly lady with a tenuous grasp on reality, the pair re-create a long line of films including The Lion King, Rush Hour, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, When We Were Kings, Driving Miss Daisy, and Robocop, putting themselves and their townspeople into it. They become the biggest stars in their neighborhood.

JOB SEARCH JUMP WHAT!?

What does it mean to have the perfect job? What even constitutes the perfect job? Making 6 figures? Avoiding the typical 9 to 5 in an equilateral cubicle? Having fun and loving what you do? How many of us really find the perfect fit - job wise - after 16+ years of education? Livin life ain't easy if you ain't happy. Why do we even seek the perfect job? To pay the bills and support the family? To be able to shop on Rodeo Drive and drop G's like giving out flyers on Bruinwalk? This won't be a life lesson, that's for sure, but these are some things that go through my mind at my point in life. I'm sure everyone has stressed or contemplated about their career and their future path as much as I have. I don't know where I'm going, I don't know where I'll end up. I can only lay out my perfect plan and dream about it. One thing I know for sure, if you know what you want, just go for it. Life's too short to be wondering if it'll end up "perfect". And if you don't know..now you know..you know. Excuse the short blurb, just thought I should get some reading material while I'm up in herrre.
Lipservice resumes tomorrow. Peace, world.

HELLO. WOULD YOU LIKE TO BLING OUT YO HURR?

Yes, forget the bling on yo necks or yo wrists, I'm talkin about bling on yo own SCALP! The ladies at Bijules NYC have come up with a new take on weaves by creating the HAIREM Collection, which includes hair clips, lapel pins, and colorful fairs (fake hairs?) and weaves. HighSnobiety was there at the Capsule Show in NYC to get first looks on the line.May I say, tressed in jewels?

AMERICAN APPAREL IS SO FLYYYYY

So I was doing my daily blog-reading and online-shopping, and decided to browse American Apparel for some basic tees.
As usual, the advertising campaign is still pornier than ever, but there were some pieces that caught my eye:I tried not to include the overly sexy shots if you know what I mean.
I've never been a die-hard fan of AA, simply because of it's overpriced basic cotton and the brand's tendency to objectify women as sexual objects, but their pieces are so simple and easily layer-able, the brand is slowly growing on me.
The multitude of colors and the body-hugging cotton and Lycra have the ability for everyone to individualize their style while feeling comfortable yet sexy.
Many of their products are unisex so there really are no boundaries to look for the perfect fit and style.
I'm about to go there tomorrow and sample me some cotton heaven.
Check out their website, sign up for their mailing list and take 15% off your next online order.
Time to stock up on them v-necks, cardigans, and luscious leggings.

INTRODUCING: COOKIE CUTTER

For you ladies out there, there's a new brand in town called Cookie Cutter, a concept of Sondra Murphy.
Cookie Cutter proudly promotes the union of skirts & sneakers, Canal Street & Rodeo Drive, Fendi & flea markets, carbs & Atkins. We appreciate individuality whether it was bought full price at Barneys or 50% off at The Salvation Army.
Lovin' the concept, but I'm not too sure about rockin' her gear just yet.
The HUCCI is a little bit out there for me, but I'm rooting for the expansion of some of her designs in the future.
Maybe some Chanel? Fendi? Prada? Who knows? Show some love for them cookies and I'll keep ya posted!
