GAP DESIGN EDITIONS PART 2

GAP Design Editions is back for a stronger round, featuring the classic white shirt redesigned by designers like Phillip Lim, Michael Bastian, AsFour, Band of Outsiders and accessories designed by Philip Crangi. These are gonna be hot, so visit your nearest GAP store...or better yet, shop online! I know, this is like my 5th shopping post for the day...but what can I say, I need to offer the deals and the exclusives. Saving money makes us happy, but spending it to snag the coveted items is a much more happy feeling. Ahhhhh.

So what's with the "LippedJeans" title? It's an effort to bring not only these two above lifestyles together, but also to harmonize the cultures of the East and the West.
Lost In Translation is an awesome movie that examines the clash between two cultures, through the lives of Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson and their interaction with the Japanese community in one of the busiest and advanced cities in the world.

The "lipped" comes from the scene shown in the video below, (possibly one of the funniest scenes in the movie perhaps due to Coppola's overall somber directing style) when the female 'entertainer' cannot correctly pronounce 'rip' in order to seduce Murray.

Consequently, "lipped" combines the clash of the American and Japanese cultures, and emphasizes that everyone attempts to adapt to a particular lifestyle, culture, or social phenomenon to correctly "define" themselves, like the woman in the scene.

We are always getting the best of two (or more) worlds, we can never define ourselves to one particular side: it's all about blurring the dividing line and bringing every aspect together - in harmony.

Wrapping it up, LippedJeans: Lipped as in loved, Lipped as in torn, however you interpret it, love the jeans (skin) you're in, and if they're too RIPPED, then, hey, ya gotta do somethin about it.

As women, it is possibly the most difficult thing in the world to find the perfect pair of jeans. So, for the most of us, love the jeans that you absolutely feel sexy and comfortable in (LIP LOCK EM) and wear em everyday if you want to (we won't tell) and rip those jeans up that signify the past, and find some new ones that you CAN lip lock and love. You deserve it, girl.
